Today’s
webinar, presented by Natural Standard Chief Editor Catherine Ulbricht, PharmD,
provided an in-depth look at Natural Standard’s database.
The research collaboration provides evidence-based, consensus-based and peer-reviewed monographs on a wide-range of health and wellness topics, including herbs, supplements and integrative modalities. With more than seven
databases, information can easily be cross referenced, enabling clinicians, patients and healthcare
institutions to make more informed and safer therapeutic decisions.
Ulbricht's webinar is one of many upcoming complimentary webinars on integrative medicine. The next webinar, An Innovative Program in Applied Natural Products, will be presented by Lana Dvorkin-Camiel, PharmD. Dvorkin-Camiel is an Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice and Natural Products Division Coordinator at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy. That was a fantastic webinar. Although I've been using Natural Standard for several weeks now, it was really helpful to see how all of the monographs link together. Natural Standard really is one-stop shopping if you're trying to learn about integrative medicine. It's got everything you could ever need.

These webinars are so helpful! I feel like I'm at a presentation without actually being there. It is great that Natural Standard does this. I did not know Natural Standard had so much information (so many databases) on their site. I will definitely look around some more!

Natural Standard is a great resource. It is nice that someone else, or rather, an entire team, has done all the legwork, so I all have to do is click my mouse to get all the information I need.

A very clear and concise discussion and walk through of the database that is already very clear to begin with. I was a little freaked out about calling the number and punching in some code, but the process was actually very simple.

This is a great way to introduce the Natural Standard database to new users! It is wonderful to be able to attend a presentation conveniently from your own desk and not have to travel. Technology has come such a long way; it’s great!

By attending this webinar, I realized how much more there is to Natural Standard! Natural Standard is a great resource filled with lots of useful information, not only for healthcare providers, but also for patients!

The webinar was nice, but almost unnecessary for people who use Natural Standard regularly because the database is so very easy to use. Gold stars for offering it.

I am definitely glad I "attended" the webinar. It was great that the webinar was presented by the President and Founder herself! It is good to see the top execs being very hands on!

This webinar is a great way to be introduced to the Natural Standard database. This database is unlike any others, and no one else does what they do! I will always refer to this database whenever I have a question about herbal supplements.

I wish more databases would follow in the footsteps of Natural Standard by providing live instructions on how to use their database! By doing so, each user would be able to get the most out of their resources. This shows how Natural Standard is dedicated to its users and to helping them utilize the database to its fullest extent.

I really like the cross-referencing among databases. Sometimes I think that things are much easier to understand when the answer’s just a click away, and that is something that only Wikipedia seems to do, except the difference is peer-reviewed and highly accurate information from the scientific community as opposed to a compilation of unrelated and often unqualified persons often making inaccurate conjectures presented as facts.

I agree with Rick. It's really nice that there is information for academics (all of the pertinent studies pre-evaluated), as well as the public consumer, who just wants a little information in an easily digestible form.

There are a lot of other nifty tools as well, such as the symptom checker, various calculator tools, a nutrition database and interactions checker. There is even continuing education offered. Check it out!

Thank you for the excellent webinar with Dr. Ulbricht. The NS database is definitely an incredible tool and place to learn every day. I am looking forward to the next webinar.

I was surprised to learn of the information that can be obtained from Natural Standard. I used it as a reference last year, but I did not have any idea about the information I could have obtained from it! Very Impressive. It is updated in "real time," has 24-hour access, is available in foreign languages, and the interactions and symptom checkers, as well as the the evidence-based tables are key tools for clinicians. What a great resource for understanding the current literature. The interactive tool section is very comprehensive, and the list of peer reviewers is quite impressive.

This was a helpful webinar. It walked you though the entire Web site so you can easily and comfortably navigate through out the database, and it was a great refresher for those who use it frequently. I have used the different segments and find the monographs very helpful. The blogs provide interesting new findings, and the webinars are informative!

I personally find the Natural Standard database to be one of the most comprehensive, informative and and easy-to-navigate database on complementary and alternative medicine. It is extremely organized, easy to use, and very informative!! It shows that their team has put in a significant amount of effort into this Web site. The webinars are a fantastic idea! They further complete the database. Natural Standard has become one of the main databases I often seek for reliable information on complementary medicine.
