Dr. Catherine Ulbricht, Founder and CEO of Natural Standard, was recently interviewed by Bridgewater Television (BTV) in a special series about dietary supplements and integrative medicine.

I think Natural Standard NS is one of the very few places where you can find very reliable information about the different combinations of herbs, synthetic medications and some of the complex recipes we encounter on a daily bases. It is great that Dr Ulbricht is educating people on the importance of evidence based medicine, especially for herbal supplements. Most people hear herbal or natural and assume it will be safe and will fix their medical problems. However it is important to be educated on if these substances could be harmful and if there is any evidence to show that they work.

It is great to see complementary and alternative therapies highlighted in the media. The complimentary trial login is such an awesome perk. Natural Standard has so many useful databases that are user-friendly and so informative. It is difficult to find reliable information on commonly used herbal supplements, but Natural Standard uses an evidence-based approach to compile both folkloric and science-based information on herbs, supplements and alternative therapies.

I think the evidence-based grades really simplify information and make it easier to understand where each integrative therapy lies in relation to the other options for each medical condition.
