I always have different granola bars on hand as I'm a constant snacker and I get hungry throughout the day..haven't thought to try to make my own though! I'm sure it'll be more economical, and of course, healthier than the ones I buy! Thanks for a great recipe Natural Standard!

I love the recipes in the Natural Standard database, there are so many choices. I can be thinking of one fruit and I find so many different fun and healthy snacks to make. I recently tried the chocolate almond granola bar recipe it was a great combination and it was very filling. I am excited to make the berry walnut oatmeal bar, it sounds very healthy and tasty. Since I started making homemade granola bars it has helped me in making healthy choices for my snacks.

I tried this recipe with a few alterations and these bars tasted delicious! I used almonds instead of walnuts, just dried blueberries, and left out the sunflower seeds. I thought the chocolate chips and cinnamon chips were the best part to this recipe. I can't believe no butter was needed for this! I definitely recommend trying this recipe if you are a granola bar fan.

This sounds like something that I used to take backpacking. When you're hiking, you look for calorie dense foods to keep you going and keep weight down. This looks really nutritious and healthful. I'll have to try it before my next trip! A book that I recommend to all of my friends trying to be healthy while backpacking is called "Lipsmackin' Vegetarian Backpackin'" It's easy to take foods like ramen that are full of sodium, but it's way better if you can make it healthy and flavorful!

I can't wait to try out this new recipe! I am a big fan of eating granola bars as a snack between meals, and I have been looking for a new recipe to try out for my favorite snack. I haven't tried a combination of berries and walnuts yet, but it looks like this will have to be my next recipe to try! I always look forward to Natural Standard's recipe of the month, thanks for posting!
