I love when the Natural Standard's recipe is featured every month. Who doesn't love to cook and its great to be able to find healthy alternatives to good food especially around the holidays when the temptation is that much greater. Use the recipes as they are or put your own spin on it, either way it is a great way to eat healthy and have it taste good.

I had never made homemade chocolate mousse. This turned out really good, I was surprised that the recipe had so few calories for a dessert that I used to consider high in calories. I will be making homemade chocolate mousse regularly now. It is great that the Natural Standard website provides such great recipes while being healthy and low in calories. I have also tried the chocolate banana shake which is something new for me and it is very quick to make and tasty.

I don’t know about you, but holidays like Valentine's Day make me crave chocolate. This seems like a great alternative to my weakness, peanut M&M's. It has low calories, low fat, and low cholesterol! How much better can it get? My problem with an amazing recipe like this would be portion control. Knowing me, I would make this chocolate mousse recipe and then eat the whole thing in one sitting, which defeats the purpose of choosing to make a healthy dessert. Oh well, in my opinion holidays are exceptions to the rule and splurging on chocolate is acceptable (especially peanut M&M's). Enjoy this recipe and more on Natural Standard's amazing recipe database.

I look forward to seeing Natural Standard's recipe of the month every month, and I am so happy to see one of my favorite desserts listed! The last time I made chocolate mousse I think I used almost an entire pint of heavy cream to make 4 servings of mousse - this is certainly a more healthy alternative! Thanks for posting yet another delicious recipe to try out!
