Aside from all the other ingredients mentioned in this article, Vitamin C is also a great source of natural remedy for the common cold. A 2013 meta-analysis of 29 trials (n = 11,306) showed a small but significant 8 percent reduction in the duration of cold symptoms in adults regularly taking vitamin C supplements (at least 200 mg/day). Although the reduction isn’t clinically significant, it is still consider an option to help boost our immune system. If taking together with zinc and other natural products, one will have a better chance at getting over a cold faster.
